Standard face shield plastic reflects 10% of the light. This reduces illumination from your headlight, creates streaky highlights on the visor and can cause eye strain over long periods of use. The Nano Surface Optical Visor has less than 1% reflection. It achieves this through use of multiple layers of nano thick anti-reflective coatings. The technology was originally developed for smart phone screens.
The effectiveness of the AR layer depends on the angle at which the visor is viewed. Standard face shields bend the plastic in a semicircle, which reduces the AR effect. The square shaped rim gently curves the visor to give you the full AR effect in your field of view.
